Ethics are important to make sure that we do not harm participants. Ethics covers content such as safety, privacy, confidentiality, and respect for participants.

This article gives a good overview of how IRBs work in practice as well as three potential ways a librarian could be involved with an IRB.

For future archivists. This paper gives a frustrating account of a student's experience working with an IRB to obtain approval to complete an oral history project.

This certificate is required by UA in order to complete human subjects research. You must complete the entire 13 module course, IRB: Human Subject Research (Investigators, Advisors). When finished, upload your certificate to Blackboard.

Marginalized Populations Research

Due:

You will find an article that deals with doing research with a marginalized community, summarize it (50-100 words) and then explain for everyone how the researchers conducted their study ethically. Then, respond to two classmates.
